Adele invited two South Africans on stage during her Munich concert, turning their night into a joyous, unforgettable experience.

Munich, Germany (12 August 2024) – In a moment that will be cherished by many, two lucky South Africans found themselves centre stage with global superstar Adele during her recent concert in Munich. Out of a massive crowd of 80,000 fans, Clement Manyathela and his friend Basani were invited to join the singer on stage, turning an already unforgettable night into something truly magical.

Adele’s concert in Munich, part of her highly anticipated residency at the purpose-built 80,000-seat arena at Messe München, has been the talk of the town. Known for her soulful voice and heartfelt performances, the British singer has been captivating audiences night after night with a record-breaking 22-song setlist. But on this particular evening, it wasn’t just Adele’s powerful vocals that stole the show; it was the sheer joy of two South Africans who had flown across the globe to see their favourite artist.

Adele spotted a group of South Africans in the crowd and invited one of them to join her on stage. While making her way to the stage, Basani invited Clement Manyathela, a well-known radio personality from 702 and Cape Talk, to join her as he was celebrating his birthday.

“You guys are just being such a vibe!” Adele exclaimed, beaming as she welcomed them to join her in the spotlight.

The interaction that followed was nothing short of heartwarming. Adele, always known for her down-to-earth nature, shared a lighthearted chat with Clement and Basani. She playfully reminded Clement to “actually push record,” ensuring he captured the moment for posterity. The trio then posed for a selfie, immortalising the night with smiles and laughter. Adele, ever gracious, thanked them for their dedication, acknowledging the 16-hour journey they undertook just to be there.

But the highlight for many fans, especially those from South Africa, was Adele’s final words to Clement and Basani: “I’ll will come to South Africa. I love South Africa”

Clement and Basani’s reactions said it all. Their faces were filled with pure joy, reflecting the love and admiration they—and millions of others—have for Adele. It was a moment that perfectly captured the magic of live music and the unique connection between an artist and her fans.

As the night continued, it was clear that this wasn’t just another concert—it was a celebration of music, connection, and the unexpected surprises that make life so special. For Clement and Basani, it was a birthday and a memory that will undoubtedly last a lifetime. And for everyone else, it was a reminder of how powerful these shared experiences can be, especially when they come from the heart.
