The Kiffness has collaborated with the Springboks to release a lively new song that blends traditional isiXhosa music with modern South African beats, aiming to rally support for the national rugby team and create a new stadium anthem.

Johannesburg, South Africa (08 July 2023) – In an exciting collaboration that celebrates South African unity and the nation’s love for rugby, The Kiffness, a popular local artist, has released a new song featuring none other than the Springboks, our beloved national rugby team.

The track, which has already started making waves across social media platforms, is an exciting fusion of traditional isiXhosa music and modern South African beats. The inspiration behind this extraordinary musical collaboration stems from the charismatic leadership of Springboks captain, Siya Kolisi.

And the timing couldn’t be more perfect, as this exciting collaboration coincides with the Springboks’ upcoming clash against Australia on the 8th of July 2023 at Loftus Versfeld.

Known for his infectious spirit and his passion for his Xhosa heritage, Kolisi has been teaching his teammates a traditional isiXhosa call and response song called “gwijo.” This powerful chant has been resonating within the Springbok locker rooms, lifting spirits and forging a sense of camaraderie amongst the players.

The Kiffness, renowned for his ability to mix different genres and create catchy tunes, took it upon himself to remix the gwijo chant and infuse it with his signature South African flair. The result is a lively and infectious anthem that captures the essence of South African rugby and showcases the vibrant diversity of our nation.

The music video for the song, which has already gone viral, is a rallying call for all South Africans to unite in support of the team.

The lyrics of the song, sung in isiXhosa, convey a powerful message of breaking down preconceptions and embracing the true spirit of the Springboks. The words remind us that those who have never experienced the magic of the team have never truly seen them in action. It’s a call to witness the awe-inspiring talent and unwavering dedication of these exceptional athletes.

YiBokke lena, yiBokke le (These are the Bokke, these are the Bokke)

Abangaziyo, abazange bayibona (Those who don’t know, have never seen them like this)

YiBokke lena, yiBokke le (These are the Bokke, these are the Bokke)

Abamaziyo, abazange bayibona (Those who know them, have never seen them like this)

Abazange bayibona (They’ve never seen them like this)

David Scott, the creative force behind The Kiffness, is ecstatic about the release of the song and hopes that it will become a new anthem for South African sports fans. He encourages everyone to learn the song, share it on social media platforms, and even create duets on TikTok. By doing so, Scott believes we can ignite the Bokke gees (the spirit of the Springboks) and rally the nation behind our team.

The song not only pays homage to our rich cultural heritage but also serves as a unifying force that brings together people from all walks of life. It is a celebration of our national identity and a reminder of the indomitable spirit that makes us proudly South African.

So, let’s rise to the occasion, learn the song, and belt it out in stadiums, at home, and wherever we find ourselves. Let’s back the Boks and let the world hear our collective voice as we proudly sing the praises of our incredible rugby team.

Siya Kolisi and his teammates have shown us that we are stronger together, and with this captivating anthem, we can demonstrate our unwavering support for the Springboks as they embark on their next thrilling rugby season.
