A special outing took children from the Juno Aurora Children’s home to Sci-Bono; made possible thanks to a lot of heart and a few guilty pleasures that made for an epic fundraiser by the Sandton Ladies Circle:
Sandton, South Africa (30 July 2024) — Several children from the Juno Aurora Children’s Home recently got to spend a day brimming with curiosity at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Johannesburg thanks to the community-focused Sandton Ladies Circle and guilty pleasures paying off.
For any child, a trip to Sci-Bono offers an enriching experienced where magic is revealed as science and technology offers a glance into the future. But for the youngsters of Juno Aurora (who are not privy to experiences like this on a whim by any means) it was an extra special treat that broadened minds and ignited a new flavour of excitement.
A renowned educational space known for its interactive exhibits and curiosity-inducing energy, the outing was made possible by the Sandton Ladies Circe, who raised funds for the occasion through a Gin and Cupcake Tasting event (who said our guilty pleasures can’t do some good?).
The day was said to be filled with hands-on experiments, engaging demonstrations and interactive workshops with a standout activity being the moment the children came together to build the African continent as a puzzle which thrilled the children, opening their eyes to the world in a new way that made them feel more part of it than ever.
Casey Mantle of the Sandton Ladies Circle shares, “We are incredibly proud of the positive impact we’ve made. Seeing the children’s excitement was truly rewarding and highlights the difference we can make through community efforts. We look forward to making an even bigger impact in our communities, so please stay tuned to our socials to find out how YOU can help with our upcoming projects.”
