Gift Zingora’s dream has become a reality. After two years of diligent saving and community support, he will now be able to own a fully-fledged garden service business!

Bryanston, South Africa (31 August 2024) – Gift Zingora is a fantastic gardener who first came onto our radar in November 2022 – Now we have a heartwarming update about his biggest dream, which is adding smiles to the entire Bryanston community!

Gift takes his job seriously; he has worked in gardens using his standard bicycle, turning it into an essential garden tool kit and transport system. Back in 2022, Grant Zoghby stopped him to chat about what Gift does. Their conversation moved Grant so much that he started a crowdfund to get Gift’s dream business off the ground.

Gift had hoped to become a full-fledged garden service provider who could work in two to three gardens a day. Back in 2022, he only managed one garden a day, as he had to cycle to each client. To make his dream a reality, he needed a bakkie and a team.

Grant and Bridget Nortje had raised funds to help Gift achieve his dreams. They managed to raise enough to buy him essential safety gear, a cellphone and a few extras and the rest was used as savings for a bakkie.

Bridget recently took to the I Love Bryanston group on Facebook to share the heartwarming update that Gift had finally purchased a bakkie to take his business to the next level.

“I’m sure many of you will remember the story of Gift, who Grant Zoghby and I met a few years back. He is a wonderful gardener who works 7 days a week and had made his own makeshift “bakkie” with his bicycle to transport his gardening goods to his work places and back home.” – Bridget Nortje

“The story grew and the reach was further than we could ever have imagined. Many of you contributed to a BackABuddy fund and we managed to do repairs to his bike, supply proper lights, shoes, a helmet and safety equipment as well as buy a cellphone for Gift to communicate with clients.

Gift’s ultimate goal and dream was to one day own a bakkie of his own to do his gardening work and transport his equipment to and from his home to his employers’ homes.”

With the money raised, this goal still seemed very out of reach. We explained to Gift that we would need to keep saving and help him get a drivers license for him to own this vehicle.”

After many years of diligent saving and getting all affairs in order – today a wonderful man’s dream came true!

Dreams do come true, and this is a happy day as we could make someone’s come to life”

Dreams really do come true, and we absolutely love when a story gets such a wholesome update like this one. Congrats on your hard work, Gift!
