South Africa, often overshadowed by its challenges, proves its enduring appeal by NOT appearing on a Facebook list of countries people would NEVER move to!
Global (28 June 2024) – South Africa often gets a bad rep due to its challenges, but let’s face it – South Africa is a really lekker country! Despite the issues we face, there’s so much good happening here that often gets overlooked. From the stunning landscapes to the vibrant cultures and the incredible spirit of our people, South Africa has a lot to offer.
And guess what? We’ve got some fantastic news to share that proves just how awesome our country is!
While some South Africans might be tempted to pack their bags and leave, there’s plenty of evidence showing that many are choosing to stay. Even better, some are coming back home! A recent article on Good Things Guy highlighted the growing trend of South Africans returning home, drawn by the unique charm and opportunities our country offers. Not to mention, we have loads of international investment in South Africa, which is a brilliant sign of confidence in our nation’s future.
Recently, a Facebook page with nearly one million followers asked its audience, “Which country would you NEVER move to?” And South Africa didn’t appear on the list. Not even once.
That’s right, people would totally move to South Africa. It’s a win, and we’ll gladly take it!
The countries that topped the “not to move to” list included America, Russia, and North Korea. Other mentions were Cuba and Australia (thanks to its wild wildlife). While people didn’t go into detail about why they wouldn’t move to these places, there were some lively debates in the comments. Interestingly, some Americans even mentioned specific states they wouldn’t move to, but they were quickly reminded of the difference between countries and states by other social media users.
The fact that South Africa didn’t make it onto this “kak” list is something to celebrate. It shows that, despite our challenges, people around the world see the value and potential in our beautiful country. We have so much to be proud of and so many reasons to stay hopeful and positive about our future.
So, here’s to South Africa! A country that, despite everything, continues to attract love and admiration from near and far. Let’s keep shining and showing the world just how lekker we truly are!
