The Jasmyn Farmers Market in Hartbeespoort is making grocery shopping for wheelchair users much simpler with a newly designed trolley.

Shopping can be tricky, especially when you have a trolley that won’t work properly. Imagine trying to push that same dysfunctional trolley from a wheelchair! The Jasmyn Farmers Market in Hartebeespoort has started providing trolleys that are specially designed for wheelchair users.

On the 4th of February a photo was shared on CE Mobility Wheelchair Specialists Facebook page, of a man using the trolley to do his shopping at the Jasmyn Farmers Market. The mobility wheelchair specialists praised the Jasmyn Farmers Market for implementing the trolleys in their store.

“Finally a trolley designed for wheelchair users. WELL DONE Jasmyn farmers market in Hartebeespoort Dam.”

The Facebook photo has received so much positive feedback from people commenting on how great the idea is and praise to the Jasmyn Farmers Market for implementing the trolleys use in their store.

Well done hope to see them soon at major supermarkets!” – Yvonne Schonborn

Finally! I am not a wheelchair user but I used to see these in UK all the time and wondered when SA would get with the program. This is truly wonderful! Well done.” – Tasneem Abrahams

Very Awesome Idea, makes u feel even more independent,” – Astrid Geldenhuys

Such a brilliant idea and an inconvenience I had never given a thought to before…..” – Derek Rosetta Swingburn

Many of the Facebook users on the post have also said that select Pick n Pay stores provide the trolleys in their stores. Lets hope that as these trolleys become more well known, that more shops provide them and it makes the lives of wheelchair users much easier.
