Kruger National Park and the Mother City have been included on a global list of the Top 50 Most Popular Post-Lockdown Destinations.
South Africa (29 June 2020) – From the sexiest accent in the world to the most festive cities across the globe, Big 7 Travel has a list for everything and South Africa is often featured on their Top 50 lists. Cape Town was even voted onto one of the best destinations of the decade!
1.5 million people from 60 countries take surveys and vote for the best travel accolades around the world. Big 7 Media share several lists which promote global travel. In the past, we have shared their lists about South Africa including being the 5th most “Instagrammable” county in the world and the three listed above. There have been many more but these are just a few of the exciting accolades awarded to South Africa.
Thankfully, while travel has been off-limits during the global pandemic of COVID-19, people have still been dreaming of where they want to go next.
We have been dreaming of the moment we can visit Kruger National Park again. As well as popping over to Swaziland and Lesotho. There is a local travel list that is envy-worthy and rightly so, South Africa is a damn beautiful place!
That being said, 1.5 million people from 60 other countries are also wanting to come to South Africa and visit our beautiful country. Two of our most famous destinations have been voted onto the Top 50 Post-Lockdown Destinations list by Big 7 Travel.
“Looking at the results of surveys sent to our 1.5 million audiences on social media and trending holiday locations on Google Search in the past 30 days, we can see that there’s a clear trend in post-lockdown getaways: remote islands, peaceful countryside breaks and tropical paradise beaches.
While there are a few major cities on the list, the majority of people are favouring quieter areas with plenty of space for social distancing, with countries that quickly contained the virus proving popular.
Kruger National Park placed at No.20, and Cape Town came in at No.36″
This is what they had to say about our destinations on their list.
“36th. Cape Town, South Africa
Cape Town is a dream location to visit: endless natural beauty and clifftop views, pastel pink neighbourhoods and turquoise waters. What more could you ask for?
Hike Table Mountain National Park, learn about the country’s history and see penguins up-close. Cape Town is also home to amazing wine and food, and we predict that the next decade will see plenty of exciting new additions to the city’s hospitality scene. South Africa isn’t allowing tourists in until 2021, but it’s worth the wait.”
And Kruger National Park.
“20th. Kruger National Park, South Africa
Safari experiences, in general, have been a popular search term for Big 7 Travel readers. The Kruger National Park is a vast space in North-Eastern South Africa, that covers 19,485 km² and is home to a huge array of wildlife.
The park has safari experiences of all kinds, allowing you the opportunity to escape busy city living and get back to nature.”
We love that two of our most iconic destinations have ended up on the list. When we can finally travel, where do you plan on visiting?
