Team South Africa are currently sitting at 4th in the IAAF World Championships in London. We have received 3 medals from the hard work of our athletes.

 

South Africa are currently competing in the IAAF World Championships in London. The sporting event started on the 4th of August and is finishing up on the 13th of August.

The athletes that went over are making us incredibly proud with their performances. So far SA have collected one gold and two bronze medals.

Luvo Manyonga Men’s Long Jump – Gold
Ruswahl Samaai Men’s Long Jump – Bronze
Caster Semenya Women’s 1500 Metres – Bronze

We are competing for the top spot, going against the United States, Kenya and Ethiopia. This evening Wayde van Niekerk will be running in the 400m Final and all going to plan we can quickly add another Gold to the table and move up a position. Wayde is also set to compete in the 200m Semi-Final tomorrow evening.

South Africa is also currently sitting at 7th on the Placing Table with 24 points. We will continue to update you with all the exciting news and information about the South African athletes competing.
