Education is an important part of growing up and these are the organisations making sure children get the education they deserve.

South Africa (30 January 2024) – Education is vital for the development of healthy children. Learning to read and write and having access to educational support, financial support and emotional support all play a vital role in just how well-adapted a child becomes.

On this list, which is a new one at Good Things Guy, you will find homework clubs, reading charities, schooling infrastructure organisations and more. This list is in no way comprehensive. As we work through the year of 2024, we will hopefully grow this list.

If we have missed an organisation or charity, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com, and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO/NGO/NPC registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.

Please note that this is a working list, so keep sending through your charities, and we will keep adding them! If you are looking for child protection and welfare charities, you will find that list here.

Limpopo has a wealth of wildlife but is more rural; animal welfare organisations are working to get much-needed care to both domesticated and wild animals.

Limpopo, South Africa (13 January 2024) – Animal welfare organisations make the most difference in South Africa. There are thousands of people working to help millions of animals. Our comprehensive charity list grows and evolves every year as we add more good causes to the list. This is the 2024 list for the Limpopo province.

The Good Things Guy team has been working on these charity lists since the start of the pandemic in 2020. They were created as tools to help people find help or offer it to causes close to their hearts. Over the years, the demand for these lists has grown and today, we are excited to share our lists for 2024.

Our charity list was usually one long one but we have found, with the help of insightful readers, that one list is too much to work through. This year we are splitting the list into various categories. This list features all the animal welfare organisations we have featured over the years and can vouch for.

We are doing things a little differently this year. We now have nine animal charity lists, one for each province and a tenth featuring South Africa as a whole. Below are all the organisations that work in Limpopo to make a difference, you can find the other provinces here.

If we have missed an organisation or charity, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.

Please note that this is a working list, so keep sending through your charities, and we will keep adding them!

These charities include all kinds of animal welfare organisations. We have simplified the search process for you by adding the following codes:

B – Birds, C – Cats, D – Dogs, F – Farm, H – Horses / Donkeys, W – Wildlife, and O – Other.

  • Animal Relief for Rural Communities (Working in Phalaborwa) (D) – Website / Facebook
  • C.A.R.E – Centre for Animal Rehabilitation and Education (Working in Phalaborwa) (W) – Website / Facebook
  • DAKTARI Bush School and Wildlife Orphanage (Working in Hoedspruit) (W) – Website / Facebook

Communities across South Africa are done waiting and are taking matters into their own hands, cleaning up the streets and creating meaningful employment.

South Africa (12 January 2024) – Community action groups are changing the way South Africans see things like potholes, overgrown curbs, filthy beaches and waste management (to name but a few). These groups are taking matters into their own hands and uplifting communities in the process.

Whether they focus solely on cleaning beaches, restoring rivers, collecting litter, mowing lawns or maintaining roads, these organisations unite communities in efforts to make South Africa a better place.

Every year, since the start of the pandemic in 2020, the Good Things Guy team has been working on these charity lists. This list is actually a new one that we have never shared before. It features all the organisations working to uplift and clean communities through active citizenship.

If we have missed an organisation or charity, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com, and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO/NGO/NPC registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.

Please note, this is a working list, so keep sending through your charities and groups, and we will keep adding them!

You can say a lot about a society, by the way they treat their elderly and in South Africa, we hope to honour our golden oldies; showering them in love, kindness and friendship.

South Africa (11 January 2024) – The ageing population (globally) is living longer and longer, a part of life that many have not entirely planned for. Many of South Africa’s elderly find themselves struggling financially or from loneliness. We can support these golden oldies by lending a helping hand, listening to tales of their wild youths or just making sure they have something to keep them busy.

Every year, since the start of the pandemic in 2020, the Good Things Guy team has been working on these charity lists. This list features all the organisations working to protect and support the elderly.

There are many ways to lend a helping hand, whether financially, donating food items to care homes, visiting with delicious baked goods, donating entertainment such as books, dvds, puzzles and board games, or even wool (so they can knit granny squares for charitable causes – see that list here). Making a fuss of our golden oldies means there is less sadness and loneliness in the world. So without further ado, let’s get helping!

If we have missed an organisation or charity, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com, and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO/NGO/NPC registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.

Please note, this is a working list, so keep sending through your charities, and we will keep adding them!

Knitters and crochet pros, if you are looking for ways to give back this year, these organisations need scarves, blankets, baby booties and more.

South Africa (09 January 2024) – The Good Things Guy team have been working on these charity lists since the start of the pandemic in 2020. They were created as tools to help people find help or to offer help to causes close to their hearts. Over the years, the demand for these lists has grown, and today, we are excited to start sharing our lists for 2024.

Our charity list was usually one long one, but we have found, with the help of insightful readers, that one list is too much to work through. In 2023, we started creating separate lists, dedicated to specific causes or skills.

This list features organisations that try and make winter more bearable for the many who face it under-resourced, support children who need comfort, and empower women fighting cancer all by knitting beanies, blankets, booties and beanies, soft toys and scarves. These organisations specifically welcome knitted and crochet items or facilitate the purchase of these items in support of other causes.

If we have missed an organisation or charity specialising in knitted goods, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO/NGO/NPC registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.

Please note, that this is a working list, so keep sending through your charities, and we will keep adding them!

There are so many people who are faced with life on the streets, in need of kindness and a helping hand; these are the organisations making sure they are seen!

South Africa (11 January 2023) – The Good Things Guy team has been working on these charity lists since the start of the pandemic in 2020. They were created as tools to help people find help or offer it to causes close to their hearts. Over the years, the demand for these lists has grown, and today, we are excited to share our lists for 2023.

Our charity list was usually one long one, but we have found, with the help of insightful readers, that one list is too much to work through. This year we are splitting the list into various categories. This fifth list features all the organisations working with people to put a roof over their heads.

There are several kinds of organisations, whether it be a service to support destitute people, a shelter to give a night’s stay or an organisation specialising in housing, we have added some indicators below, so you know what the organisation specialises in.

If we have missed an organisation or charity, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO/NGO/NPC registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.

Please note, this is a working list, so keep sending through your charities, and we will keep adding them!

(HM) – Homeless/Destitute Care, (HH) – Housing, (S) – Shelter.
