The staff burst out in tears after hearing that a kind customer left a tip of R94,486.

Mossel Bay, South Africa (12 November 2021) – The staff at the Delfinos restaurant in Mossel Bay received a life-changing tip of R94,486 from a kind stranger.

After months of lockdown struggles, the staff at Delfinos – a beautiful restaurant along the garden route – were overwhelmed with emotion after getting almost R100,000 in a tip.

The American customer who left the tip did so out of pure kindness, wanting to thank the staff and restaurant. The total lunch bill for the table came to R3,454, but then to the surprise of everyone working, R94,486 was added as a tip.

“WOW! What would you do if you were tipped R94,486? A big thank you to the table that left this tip for our hard-working staff. You’ve made a few hearts extremely happy today! From all the staff – thank you!!” – the manager at Delfinos posted.

The manager explained that they had double-checked that the $6,000 tip was not a mistake before accepting it.

“A client who paid with her credit card from America. Yes, we normally confirm with clients a few times before they tip R100,000. The staff burst out in tears and posed for photos.”

We love kind stories like this. It truly restores faith in humanity.
