This heartwarming video of a pangolin enjoying a mud bath is serving all the good feels and is a precious reminder of the marvels of nature.
South Africa (26 August 2024) – Splish splash I was taken a bath, du-du-du-du! LOL, okay this isn’t about me, but an absolutely adorable pangolin that was captured on camera living his best life!
A viral video shows the unique mammal completely covered in mud as it takes a carefree mud bath under the sun. According to Pangolin.Africa, pangolins are capable swimmers, but they prefer to stay on land.
Distinctly characterised by their overlapping scales, these mammals eat ants and termites using an extraordinarily long, sticky tongue and can quickly roll themselves up into a tight ball when they feel threatened.
Thankfully, though, our little chap here was clearly enjoying some much-needed rest and relaxation in the mud, which is said to be a great way to get rid of external parasites.
This playful creature’s simple act reminds us of the beauty and resilience of the natural world.
Organisations like Pangolin.Africa work tirelessly to protect these incredible creatures and ensure their survival. The non-profit organisation dedicated to the survival of the most highly trafficked wildlife species on Earth – the African pangolin.
Through the organisation’s various projects, Pangolin.Africa enables global partners in tourism, conservation, and business to contribute to the research, protection, and rehabilitation of this vulnerable species.
