The Twee Rivieren Bird Hide has been adapted for wheelchair access, allowing all visitors to the Kgalagadi to enjoy the scenery.
Northern Cape, South Africa (16 April 2024) – South African National Parks (SANParks), in partnership with the Northern Cape Economic Development and Tourism (DEDaT) have added to tourism by creating an inclusive and accessible space in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Parks.
The two entities completed the Twee Rivieren Bird Hide which is intended to enhance visitor experience and is an additional development in tourism infrastructure investment.
The walkway to the bird hide at Twee Rivieren is now also wheelchair friendly. This expansion is part of SANParks’ policy to make all national parks accessible and user friendly for all.
The park can now provide access for mobility disabled and elderly guests who can enjoy nature easily through the upgraded and updated paved walkway to the bird hide.
“SANParks extends its gratitude to its partner and sponsor, the Northern Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism and we look forward to a continued relationship that will ensure that Kgalagadi Transfontier Park and the other national parks across the province remains top nature destinations and pride of South Africa’s conservation estate.”
