Valda Adams, a teacher at the Inspire Children and Youth charity organisation, overcame significant obstacles to graduate from the University of South Africa. Her achievement has not only impacted her own life but has also inspired countless rural children she assists and teaches.

Malmesbury Farms, South Africa (14 October 2024) – Being able to successfully graduate from university despite coming from a disadvantaged background with a lack of resources speaks to the unshakable endurance of the human spirit.

This is the story of the grit and grace of Valda Adams, who pushed against the grain to achieve her degree from the University of South Africa.

Valda, who is an INSPIREmobile programme teacher at Inspire Children and Youth charity organisation, managed to obtain her hard-earned degree while living in a small rural town with very little positive support.

In fact, many people around her tried to discourage her from continuing her goal to further her studies as a driven teacher and mother.

Today, Valda stands out above the average person in her community and is a beacon of hope to the INSPIREchildren and more so, her little daughter.

Her work and dedication to the INSPIREmobile programme light up so many lives who find themselves in darkness.

The organisation’s INSPIREmobile programme is a flexible and holistic programme that provides safe spaces to rural farm children and teenagers at their homes, ensuring they complete their homework.

“We are really lucky and so grateful for you Valda. What a journey, what an accomplishment and what a future ahead of her!

“We are so lucky to call her our INSPIREteacher and be witness to the amazing work and effort she put in to help every rural farm child perform well above average (in their schoolwork). With achievements such as Valda’s, confidence is built in a way that nothing else can,” Inspire Children and Youth said.
