TEARS Animal Rescue is seeking experienced foster parents to provide these untamed creatures with the love and care they so desperately need.

Cape Town, South Africa (07 October 2024) – Feral cats, often overlooked and avoided due to their untamed nature, deserve some love too.

Often overwhelmed with the abundance and responsibility of caring for these cats is the TEARS Animal Rescue cattery team, which is appealing to cat lovers, pet owners and foster parents, to consider welcoming one or two into their loving homes.

TEARS Animal Rescue believes that every animal deserves a chance at a loving home, including those who have never known human kindness.

“We are urgently seeking foster moms (and dads!) with experience taming feral and semi-feral kittens and cats to join our mission of transforming lives.

“Feral and semi-feral kittens arrive at our shelter fearful, anxious, and often unable to trust humans. But with your skill and patience, these fragile souls can slowly learn what it means to feel safe and loved,” the animal rescue said.

TEARS is currently seeking compassionate, experienced foster parents who can guide these timid creatures from the shadows of fear to the warmth of companionship.

Taming feral kittens and cats requires a unique blend of understanding, patience, and persistence.

These animals haven’t had the chance to experience human affection — but with your help, they can begin to trust and, eventually, find forever homes.

“Without your care, many of these cats may remain unadoptable, stuck in a cycle of fear. But with your gentle guidance, we can break that cycle.”

TEARS is looking for experienced foster parents with the knowledge and patience to work with feral and semi-feral cats and kittens.

By becoming a foster parent, you can break the cycle of fear and allow these cats to experience the warmth of companionship. Your skills and compassion can change their lives, one frightened kitten at a time.

“With your help, we can show these scared kittens and cats that the world isn’t as frightening as it seems. You have the ability to unlock their potential and give them the opportunity to find loving homes.”

For adoption queries, contact TEARS at cattery@tears.org.za or call 021 785 1310.
